There is also a copy of these instructions taped to the inside of the door of the cabinet in the kitchen where we store our supplies. COFFEE HOUR SET-UP Thank you for setting up our coffee hour! Here are the basics. A REMINDER: be sure to tell Joan Christos at (201) 327-3599 who your substitute will be if you cannot be at service on your scheduled date. The building will be unlocked by 9:00. Please buy "goodies" for adults and children (coffee cakes, cookies - your choice); milk for coffee; juice and fruit. Simple is fine (you're paying for these offerings, after all). Please coordinate with your setup partner to split up the purchases. Supplies: There are several large plastic containers for coffee-setup with coffee, sugar, paper goods, tablecloths, garbage bags, etc. in an unlocked cabinet in the kitchen (beneath the counter on the left). If these supplies run short, please tell Joan Christos (the congregation pays for them). The coffee pots should be on the kitchen counter, marked with our congregation's initials. Chairs: All early arrivals will help with the setting up of the chairs as this requires a great deal of time and effort. Start with the chairs in the closet under the stairs; when these are all used, add metal chairs from the trucks in the kitchen. Please put hymnals (stored inside the lectern) on all the chairs. Start Coffees using water and wall outlet in the kitchen . Large pot: water to 55-cup level plus 3 cups of reg. coffee . Small pot (optional): water to 10-cup level and 1 cup decaf. coffee There is a measuring cup in the can with the regular coffee. Tables: Set up two or three tables along the left (Demarest Avenue) side of the gym: . Refreshment Table (or tables): Please include the basket for contributions to the coffee hour fund, the large Set-Up Schedule, and thanks to the hosts (yourselves!) on dry-erase board. . Welcome Table: closest to the kitchen. Set up with guest book (open), pen, Welcome Packets, blank name tags for newcomers, pamphlets (all should be in storage cabinet). . Name Tag Case: Stored next to the storage cabinet. Put on Welcome Table. Greeting/Ushering: Welcome members and guests, hand out Orders of Service, index cards for announcements (index cards are tucked in with pamphlets). Remain at welcome table for 10 minutes to greet latecomers and seat them if necessary. Offering/Collection: Retrieve collection plates from front table, pass to congregation and return to bottom of front table, covering one with the other. Clean-Up: IMPORTANT: Please wash up and put away supplies. All leftovers must be taken away. Garbage has to be bagged and put out in dumpster on the driveway side of building. DO NOT HESITATE TO ASK FOR HELP with this chore - it is a big job! THANKS - The Membership Team Yours in loving faith, Michael S.
